Each of the seven spectrometer boards operates on a 100 MHz clock. In addition each board receives a 1 Hz, 0.001% duty cycle (one 10µs pulse per second) signal; this 1PPS maintains synchronization with the telescope data feed.
These two timing inputs from the observatory are converted into LVDS differential pairs and split by an octal driver on the timing board. The timing signals are connected to each of the spectrometer boards through RJ45 STP cables.
