For the year 2011, 902 supernovae (585 last year) 293 of these supernovae were named by CBAT, 89 were given possible supernova designations, and 520 were not reported to CBAT. See the 2011 statistics page for more information. The brightest SN of the year are 2011fe (Mag 9.9), 2011ja (Mag 11.7), 2011dh (Mag 12.1), 2011iv (Mag 12.1), 2011iy (Mag 12.2), 2011by (Mag 12.5), 2011B (Mag 12.8), followed by 2011ae (Mag 13.0), 2011ao (Mag 13.9), and 2011aa (Mag 13.9).
