1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:

1.1 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 6363 (The Environments and Host =
Galaxies of BL-Lac Objects)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot survey observations of =
BL-Lac objects 1ES1853+67 and PKS0537-44 in order to study their =
environment and their host galaxies. The goal is to investigate =
systematic trends in host galaxy type, unusual morphological features, =
nearby companion galaxies, etc. The observations were executed as =
scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.2 Completed Two Sets of FOS/RD 6097 (UV Spectroscopy of Radio Loud =
AGNs With Double Peaked Emission Lines)

The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make =
ultraviolet spectrographic observations of the active galactic nuclei in =
radio galaxies 3C390.3 and PKS0518-45. These galaxies are reported to =
have double-peaked emission lines. These observations are to test =
competing models for the origin of the broad lines and to define the =
properties of the host galaxies in the ultraviolet. The observations =
were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.3 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5971 (HST Medium Deep Survey)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make long exposure medium deep sky survey =
observations at latitudes larger than 10 degrees taken in parallel with =
the prime science observations. The observations were executed as =
scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 6235 (High Resolution Imaging of Radio Galaxies =
at Redshift Z~1.0)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of faint radio galaxy =
3C247 which is known to have a redshift of about one. This is to attempt =
to determine the cause of the alignment of the blue-excess along the =
radio axis. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no =
anomalies were noted.

1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 6102 (Chemical Evolution and History of Star =
Formation in the Large Magallanic Cloud)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the "Bar" region in =
the Large Magellanic cloud to study the chemical evolution and the =
history of star formation in that region. The goal is to observe =
individual field stars near the main sequence turnoff in order to study =
the large scale process that control star formation and nucleosynthesis =
in galaxies. The observations were executed as planned, and no anomalies =
were reported.

1.6 Completed FOS/BL 6155 (Relationship Bewteen Lyman-Alpha Clouds and =
Galaxies at Low Redshift)

The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make =
observations of the Lyman-Alpha forest in quasar H1821+643 to study the =
relationship between Lyman-Alpha clouds and galaxies at low redshift =
which are in the same field of view. About an hour into this seven-hour =
proposal, at 090/003642Z, there was an approximate 21-second loss of =
lock. HSTAR 5555 was written. The observations were completed as =
planned and no anomalies were reported.

1.7 Completed WF/P-2 6254 (GTO Pure Parallel Program - Cycle 5)

The WF/PC-2 was use to make random long exposures of high galactic =
fields taken in parallel with the prime science observations to obtain a =
random sample of galaxies. The observations were executed as scheduled, =
and no anomalies were noted.

1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 6250 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: Internal =
Monitor)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make a series on internal calibration obser=
vations. Internal flats, biases, and K-Spot calibration images were =
taken. These observations are designed to monitor the health of the =
cameras. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies =
were noted.

1.9 Completed FOS/BL 5890 (Far-UV Extinction for Deeply Embedded Stars =
in Interstellar Clouds.)

The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make =
ultraviolet observations of NGC-2024 to measure the UV extinction of a =
star which is deeply imbedded in an interstellar cloud. The objective is =
to determine the properties of the grains as a function of the depth in =
the cloud. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems =
were reported.

1.10 Completed WF/PC-2 6253 (Pure Parallel Archive Program)

The WF/PC-2 was used to execute a pure parallel program taking =
ultraviolet observations running concurrently with prime science =
observations. The intent is to search for extra-galactic sources with =
flux excesses at 3000 A0 and galactic sources with excesses at 1600 A0. =
The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were =
reported.

1.11 Completed WF/PC-2 5924 (Nuclear Emission Line Region Associated =
with Compact Flat Spectrum)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make spectrographic observations of the =
nuclear emission region of galaxy NGC-3998 to study its compact flat =
spectrum. There is evidence that this jet-produced AGN is powered by =
accretion disks feeding massive black hole. The observations were =
executed as schedule, and no anomalies were noted.

1.12 Completed WF/PC-2 6189 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: Internal =
Monitor - Vis Flats)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make internal visual flat calibration =
images. Both photometric and narrow-band filters were used. The =
observations were executed as planned, and no problems were reported.

1.13 Completed FOC/96 5835 (The Structure of the Inner Coma of the =
Comet Chiron)

The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make observations of =
the object/comet 2060 Charon in order to study its inner coma. The goals =
are to map the structure and color of the inner coma. The observations =
were executed as planned, and no problems were reported.

1.14 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 6187 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: =
Earth Flat)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make Earth streak flat calibration images. =
These streak flats will be used to produce flat fields, to map the OTA =
illumination pattern and, in combination with other data, to produce new =
superflats. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems =
were reported.

1.15 Completed FGS 6268 (The Parallax of NGC-6853)

The FGSs were used to make astrometric observations in order =
measure the parallax to NGC-6853, one of the nearest planetary neabulae. =
The observations were executed as planned, and no problems were reported.

1.16 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 6253 (Pure Parallel Archive =
Program)

The WF/PC-2 was used to execute a pure parallel program taking =
ultraviolet observations running concurrently with prime science =
observations. The intent is to search for extra-galactic sources with =
flux excesses at 3000 A0 and galactic sources with excesses at 1600 A0. =
The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were =
reported.

1.17 Completed FGS 6264 (Parallax of RR-Lyrae)

The FGSs were used to make astrometric observations of the =
variable star RR-Lyrae in order to measure its parallax. RR-Lyrae is the =
proto-type for a class of variable stars whose pulsation periods =
correlate with their absolute magnitudes. The observations were =
completed as planned, and no problems were reported.

1.18 Completed WF/PC-2 5849 (Host Galaxies of Luminous Nearby Quasars)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make deep exposure observations of host =
galaxy PG1226+023 which is known to have a luminous nearby quasar. The =
observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.19 Completed WF/PC-2 5956 (Mergers or Cooling Flows: The Nature of =
NGC-4696)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the central dominate =
galaxy NGC-4696 in the Centaurus Galactic Cluster. The objective is to =
determine whether cooling flows or galactic mergers are responsible for =
optical emission filaments in x-ray clusters. The observations were =
completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported.

1.20 Completed WF/PC-2 6101 (The Young Double Cluster NGC-1850 in the =
Large Magellanic Cloud)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the young double =
cluster NGC-1850 which is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Each =
component is reported to have different ages, mass functions, and spatial =
distributions. The observations were completed as planned, and no =
anomalies were reported.

1.21 Completed WF/PC-2 6092 (Disk Globular Clusters in Edge-On Spiral =
Galaxies)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the edge-on spiral =
galaxy NGC-5907 in order to study its disk globular clusters. The =
question is whether the thick disk in spiral galaxies results from =
accretion of one or more satellite galaxies. The observations were =
completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted.
