STIS Bright Object Protection Requirements for GOs in Phase II Guest Observers using STIS/MAMA configurations are required to submit bright-object reviews of all their targets and fields. We review the policies and tools which can be used for these reviews. Recent improvements in the STIS Calibration Pipeline and Data Analysis Tools STScI has recently completed an extensive re-calibration of all STIS data taken before the failure of STIS in August 2004. Many of the changes incorporated in this re-calibration, along with recent improvements in some STIS data analysis tools, were recently described by Holfeltz et al. 2008 (AAS Meeting 211, Abstract #135.10). This poster is reproduced here. Changes in Treatment of STIS GO-WAVECAL Exposures (TARGET=WAVE) We discuss some changes to the way TARGET=WAVE observations are treated by the pipeline calibration. If automatic wavecal observations are turned off, the pipeline can now automatically use any available GO specified TARGET=WAVE lamp exposures to perform the wavelength calibration. Uniform Recalibration of All STIS Data After STIS is repaired, older, pre-repair STIS data will continue to be retrieved from a static archive, while newer post-SM4 data will be automatically re-calibrated by the OTFR system each time they are retrieved. +----------------------------------------------------------+ | Need help? http://www.stsci.edu/hst/stis/help.html +----------------------------------------------------------+ | To subscribe or unsubscribe to the STAN, send a message | to majordomo@stsci.edu with a blank subject line and | the following in the body: [un]subscribe stis_news +----------------------------------------------------------+ | The Space Telescope Science Institute is operated by the | Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, | Inc., under NASA contract NAS5-26555. +----------------------------------------------------------+
