Subject: Flash Report - Successful Gyro 6 Power On

As part of the gyro reconfiguration effort, Gyro 6 was successfully
powered on at 2011/075/19:21:31.б  Heater operation was verified to be on
the primary controller.б  Subsequent gyro operation was nominal and the
subsequent vehicle slew at 19:28 and GS acquisition at 19:43 were
successful.б  A bias update occurred at 20:44 with values of [-1.3, 16.0
б 18.6] arcsec/hr, so the thermal environment change in RSU 3 (gyros 5 & 6)
did not significantly perturb the gyro 5 bias. б Ops Note 2199 was
submitted to modify the relevant ground system limits.
б 
The next activity in the reconfiguration process will occur on Friday at
077/18:20 (2:20 pm EST).
