Celebrating the Images: Show & Tell Slide Show

As part of the Astronomy Outreach Imaging Workshop we are planning a
presentation to showcase the images of workshop participants on the evening
of Monday, September 29 in the STScI auditorium. We envision this as a
time to relax a bit after discussing the nuts and bolts of image production.
We hope to foster an appreciation of the results of the hard work and
enjoyment of extracting beauty as well as information from science data.
This program will be open to a wider audience of STScI staff and the general
public. In addition, we plan to include these images on the "proceedings"
web site following the workshop.
We would like this event to be more about the emotional involvement with
the pictures, why it was made the way it was, aesthetic choices, etc.,
rather than nuts & bolts of Photoshop technique, which would be more appropriate
for a case study presented during the more formal workshop.
We have solicited submissions from workshop participants of their best/favorite
images to include in the slide show. Thanks to all who have submitted
images. We look forward to the event.
