I use high contrast imaging from both ground and space to study young stars, circumstellar disks, and extrasolar planets.
I am a member of the Telescopes group at STScI, working on issues of wavefront control, optical modeling, and high contrast imaging in support of the James Webb Space Telescope.
Current research projects include:
- Development of the Gemini Planet Imager
- Multiwavelength Imaging and Modeling of Edge-on Circumstellar Disks
- HST NICMOS Imaging Polarimetry of Disks around Herbig Ae Stars
- Integral field spectroscopy of outflows from young stars
- Development of high contrast coronagraphy and wavefront control for segmented and/or obscured telescopes
- Optical modeling and simulations for JWST
- Laboratory wavefront sensing testbeds for JWST commissioning & operations.
Here's my CV and Ph.D. thesis. For publications, software, and other distractions, follow the links at left.
