This image was taken with a methane filter that operates at 8930 angstroms and thus a conventional CCD can be used as the detector. The pictures comes from the McDonald Observatory 24-inch telescope. I have processed it to show the non-spherical nature of the remnants, G (left most on central meridian) and L. There is a fan of diffuse material plainly visible that extends towards the southwest of each impact site (south is down, west is to the right).
