. ATLAS is a project to image seven square degrees of sky, in two fields (CDF-S and ELAIS-S1), at radio wavelengths, to an rms of about 15 Jy, making it the widest deep radio survey aver attempted. The fields are chosen to cover the Spitzer Wide-Area IR Extragalactic Survey (SWIRE), and the radio images cut through the dust, to trace the cosmic history of AGN and star-forming galaxies. ... Research . ... A rare hybrid morphology radio galaxy . ... In this project we will be able to investigate the environmental effect on star formation and galaxy evolution in individual galaxies falling into the cluster through radio observations of active galactic nuclei (AGN). Current models of galaxy evolution regulate the star formation rates within the simulated galaxies by invoking radio-mode feedback from AGN. ... Julie.Banfield@anu.edu.au . ...
