. This article is a biographical note on Kenneth Essex Edgeworth, sometime Army officer, engineer, economist and independent theoretical astronomer. A bibliography of Edgeworth's known papers is incorporated, and his interesting cosmogonic theories are highlighted, in particular his postulation in 1943 of a source of potential comets occupying the region of the solar system beyond Neptune, recently termed the Kuiper belt.
