. Comment on J0405+3803 . Our image contains a feature of 25 mJy at 14 mas E-NE from the brightest component. It is not visible in the Caltech-Jodrell (CJ) survey image at 5 GHz (Xu et al. 1995) obtained about 6 years earlier. In 1848 the Swiss astronomer Johann Rudolph Wolf introduced a daily measure- ment of sunspot number. His method, which is still used today, counts the total number of spots visible on the face of the sun and the number of groups into which they cluster, because neither quantity alone satisfactorily meas- ures sunspot activity.
