Here is an image a supernova in UGC3683. 11.4.1998. 0.08 UT, CCD ST-7, 520s. Track and Accumulate exposure (13x40s), no filter, dark and flat corrected, temp -20c, telescope used 152/2063 refractor. The image have been taken at the center of our city, Jyvaskyla. The weather was horrible (a full moon was shining and there was clouds on the sky during exposure), so I had stopped imaging in that night. ... Iґll wait for a next clear night and send a better image then. ...
. This will be last image from me during this summer. The reason will be bright summernights. Here is an image supernova in Ngc3982. Image taken at 12.5.1998. 0.20 UT, CCD ST-7, 600s. Track and Accumulate exposure (15x40s), red filter, dark and flat corrected, temp -18c, telescope was 2063/152mm. refractor. Marko Moilanen . Back to 1998aq images . Back to Bright Supernovae . ... Dr. Rodrigues, M1 group, Spain, has pointed out the confusion in identification of SN 1998ar in NGC 2916. ... I have measured the locations of point-like sources around NGC 2916 with DSS-1 image and 5 GSC stars. ... The magnitude of this star is estimated as 15.5 mag or so on DSS1 image. ... Star C seems to be dimmer than Star B, and comparing GSC 14.8 mag star and fainter neighbouring stars, its magnitude is about 1.5 mag dimmer than GSC 14.8 mag star; which tells that SN was about 16.3 mag. ...
. Arrrrgh, it's hard to find a galaxy (even a Messier galaxy) with the full moon in the sky! . This image was taken May 11.4 UT. Nine 90 sec exposures were stacked (C14/CB245). South is up. The SN is the bright star (~12.5) directly north (below) the nucleus. Philip Sullivan . Back to Bright Supernovae . Back to Supernova 1998bu images .
