General information | Species distribution | Numeration assumed | Sequence conservation | 3D conservation | Contacts with DNA |
Domains of ETS family are highly conservative both in structure and sequence.
According to the alignment derived from Pfam database
with all fragments removed, there can be picked out several
most conserved residues:
On the scheme above, amino acid residues of ETS domain sequence
are highlighted according to their conservation level,
while not conserved residues are shown as X, the subscript telling the
possible number of such AA residues. Also the scheme represents distribution
of secondary structure elements along the sequence.
The coloured balls display the type of contact or function of the
particular residue, which might explain its conservation.
Only contacts made by sidechain atoms are shown, as the ones made by
backbone atom are assumed not important in terms of conservation.
