General Information
General Information
    This journal is an on-line open access peer-reviewed journal. The aim of the journal is the on-line publication of original papers in the field of numerical mathematics and its applications (for more details, see the scope of the journal).
    The journal endorses and behaves in accordance with the codes of conduct and international standards formulated for the publication ethics and publication malpractice.
    Each accepted paper is published online as soon as it is ready for publication in the current volume. The papers published in the journal are in open access for all categories of readers, wherever they are located
    At the end of each paper (since 2014), the corresponding bibliographic information on the paper is given in English. This block of information contains the title of the paper, the list of the authors and their affiliations, the date of receiving the manuscript, the abstract, the keywords, and the references. These references are formatted according to the Chicago Reference Style with reasonable modifications detailed in EBSCO References. This approach to format references is used in the journals published by Springer/Pleiades (for example, Mechanics of Solids, Fluid Dynamics, Moscow University Mathematics Bulletin, and many others).
    The final layout is made by the Editorial Staff.
     In lists of references in English, the following abbreviative key title of the journal should be used: Vychisl. Metody Programm.

Scope of the Journal
    The scope of the journal is focused on studies in the following two subject areas:
  • methods and algorithms of numerical mathematics and its applications for solving problems in science and technology;
  • numerical software and computing technologies for solving problems of numerical mathematics and its applications.
    Papers that deal with the development of new numerical methods and algorithms for solving problems of numerical mathematics and its applications correspond to the first subject area of the journal. Papers that discuss mathematical models and the specific use of numerical methods may also be published. Numerical algorithms and their implementations for current and new computer architectures are appropriate. Papers that present the descriptions of numerical experiments, testing problems, and evaluation of algorithms and numerical software are acceptable. Survey papers devoted to the presentation of the results of novel research and development efforts in the above scientific areas are encouraged.
    Papers corresponding to the second subject area of the journal can be divided into the following four groups.
    The first group of papers is devoted to research in the area of theory and technology for constructing numerical software (numerical libraries and application packages included): developments in systematization and classification for problems and numerical methods, in disciplines and methods of programming, in technological processes of program implementations for current and new parallel computer architectures, in methods of performing numerical experiments, etc.
    The second group includes the results of research in developments of software tools for automation of constructing numerical software for computers of various architectures: developments in tools for program transformations and representation of numerical algorithms to facilitate the parallel and vector processing, in tools for verification and macro-generation of programs, in macroextensions of algorithmic languages, in preprocessors and macro-processors, etc.
    The third group comprises the results of research in developments of software tools for automation of access to numerical software as well as for post-processing of numerical results: problem-oriented languages, object-oriented computing, knowledge-based approaches, remote access, organization of interactive modes of computing, data visualization, etc.
    The fourth group is devoted to descriptions of particular numerical programs, libraries or application packages, to particular experience with constructing, testing and certifying activities to produce high quality mathematical software collected in the form of standardized computer libraries, etc.
