In th e MP C th e S P d is p e rs io n is mo d ifie d wh e n ma g n e tic fie ld is a p p lie d . Th e re fo re , a s u rfa c e p la s mo n -in d u c e d e n h a n c e me n t o f th e TMOKE c a n b e d e te c te d . Th is p h e n o me n o n is o fte n in ve s tig a te d b y c o n tin u o u s -wa ve lig h t s o u rc e s . Bu t S P s h a ve a fe mto s e c o n d life time in p la s mo n ic c rys ta ls d u e to th e re e mis s io n a n d d a mp in g . It le a d s to th e s h a p in g o f fe mto s e c o n d la s e r p u ls e s re fle c te d fro m th e MP C. Diffe re n c e in th e re e mis s io n o f th e S P s in th e MP C fo r o p p o s ite d ire c tio n s o f th e a p p lie d ma g n e tic fie ld le a d s to th e in tra p u ls e e vo lu tio n o f th e TMOKE . It d e p e n d s o n th e p o s itio n o f th e in c id e n t p u ls e 's c a rrie r wa ve le n g th with re s p e c t to th e S P re s o n a n c e .
