Diploma thesis abstract. Synthesis and optical extinction spectroscopy of silver nanoparticles in transparent dielectric media.

This paper presents the results o n synt hesis and characterizat ion o f silver nanoparticles in the pores of several nanoporous materials: aerogel, nanoporous glass, and o ligo(urethane methacrylate). The method used is based on the impregnat ion of the porous sample by a so lution o f a silver precursor, fo llowing by reduct ion of silver atoms and their clusterizat ion within the pores. Supercrit ical carbon dioxide was used as a solvent providing effect ive impregnat ion o f the nanoporous samples due to high so lvent power and low viscosit y. Reduct ion of silver atoms was stimulated by laser radiation at the wavelengths of 405 and 532 nm or by heat ing o f the sample. The ext inct ion spectra of the composites were recorded during the synt hesis process allowing observat ion of the dynamics o f format ion of nanoparticles. The analysis based on the calculat ions of the plasmo nic ext inction allowed characterizat ion of the size and shape o f nanoparticles.
