Hotel Information

Through the intermediary of the Moscow Academservice DMC Company, hotel accommodation can be reserved at reduced rates in the hotels below:

Hotel "SPUTNIK"
"Sputnik" Hotel was built in 1967 and reconstructed in 1981. The hotel is located in Leninsky prospect - one of the most important expressways of the city. The distance from the city center is 10 minutes by car.
We would recommend the "Sputnik" Hotel as a preferable choice because it is the closest one to the Moscow State University and there exist traffic-free roads to reach the University.

Hotel "MIR"
"Mir" Hotel, built in 1968 and reconstructed in 1997, is located in the city center close to Novy Arbat street, the Residence of Russian Federation Government, the US Embassy, the exhibition complex "Expocenter" in Krasnaya Presnya area.
To reach the University by metro from the hotel "Mir", walk to the metro station "Krasnopresnenskaya" (brown line, see Moscow Metro map ), go to "Park Kultury" (two stops), change the line to the red one and go down to the "Universitet" metro station (three stops).

Hotel "UKRAINA"
Ukraina Hotel, built in 1957, is located on the bank of the Moskva river within a short distance from Novy Arbat street and the main exhibition complex "Expocenter". The hotel is in 5 minutes from the city center near the shopping area.
To reach the University by metro from the hotel "Ukraina" walk to the metro station "Kievskaya" (brown line), go to "Park Kultury" (one stop), change the line to the red one and go down to the "Universitet" metro station (three stops).

Hotel "MOSKVA"
Moskva Hotel is ideally located in the city center. The Kremlin, Red Square and the Bolshoy Theater are in a few minutes stroll from the hotel. The central building of the hotel was built in 1935, the two others in 1978.
The Hotel "Moskva" is in 15 minutes by metro, straight line to the University (red line): from the metro station "Okhotny Ryad" to the "Universitet" metro station (six stops).

Hotel "ARBAT"
Arbat Hotel, built in 1968, is centrally located close to Arbat street, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The shopping district is near the hotel. The Red Square is in 15 minutes by car.
The Hotel "Arbat" is nice place to stay, it takes about half an hour to reach the Moscow State: by metro, take light/dark blue line "Smolenskaya" until the cross with the red line (two/one stops), take "Biblioteka Lenina" and go down to the "Universitet" metro station (five stops).

Please notice that:

During the Workshop, we shall arrange a bus transportation from the Hotel "Sputnik" to Moscow State University by the beginning of the morning sessions and back to the hotel in the evenings.

Academservice works with 50 hotels in Moscow, from tourist class to luxury hotels. Accommodation can also be booked in other hotels , not necessarily in the hotels mentioned above.
The metro is very cheap and rather convenient here in Moscow (see Moscow Metro Map )

How to reserve a hotel room

If hotel reservations are required, a hotel booking form (please download the Word processor file or ps-file with the form) has to be filled in and sent by FAX directly to Academservice:

In order to avoid disappointments (in particular, to get Russian visa in time), early booking is advised.

Confirmation of reservation

Academservice will forward a personal hotel voucher to the delegate only after receipt of the deposit. If Academservice does not receive the deposit the hotel reservation will not be made.

Hotel Cancellation

According to the Academservice DMC booking rules (http://www.tourintel.ru/rules.html), cancellation without penalty can be made before 9:00 a.m. GMT 3 working days prior to arrival. Late cancellation are subject to cancellation fee equal to: 100% cost of the first night accommodation including breakfast. But when Academservice DMC arranged Visa Support, penalty is taken always in spite of the date when a cancellation have been made.

Visa support

For those who will book the hotel, the visa support will be sent together with a hotel voucher.

University Student House

A limited number of rooms in the University Student House ($10 per night) will be also available.

In the Student House, each two single rooms (8 sq.m., furnished, TV, fridge, telephone) share shower and toilet; everything is simple, but reasonable. The University Student House is located in the same building (the Main Building of MSU, see photo) where Workshop sessions will take place. There are many dining rooms and cafeterias inside the Main Building. If you wish to stay in the Student House please mark the corresponding item in the Pre-registration form . Since only a limited number of the Student House rooms are available, we cannot guarantee in advance their reservation for everyone who wish to stay there. We shall inform when the limit will be exhausted.

Please notice:

For those participants, who would like to stay at the Student House, we order the visa support through the Moscow State University. For this aim we need your personal data from the pre-registration form.
Moscow State University does not valid to provide the visa support for accompanying persons. Therefore all accompanying persons have to stay in hotels, not in the Student House.
