We have studied the parameters of acoustic jet arising at the open end of a waveguide. The velocity field was measured by means of a hot-wire anemometer. We used the technique of separation of jet velocity and oscillating velocity amplitude which was proposed earlier. This technique is valid for a wide range of relation between the jet velocity and oscillating velocity amplitude. The full picture of spatial developement of jet from a waveguide open end was obtained. We found that there is a good agreement between our experimental data and numerical simulation data published by other authors. It was found that acoustic jet arises when the oscillating velocity amplitude exceeds a certain threshold value which increases proportionally to the sound wave frequency. As for the acoustic jet velocity, it depends almost linearly with the oscillating velocity amplitude in the orifice.
