The article is devoted to the activity of the Central election committee of the Russian Federation. Today it is very important to understand the role and the place of the Central election committee of the Russian Federation in the creation of political and legal consciousness of citizens and election legislation, its role in the organization of elections. The author presents a historiography review of the problems connected to the Central election committee. The author analyzes numerous works, both Russian and foreign, on the problem. Despite the amount of works analyzed in the article, the author concludes that the aspect of activity of the Central election committee of the Russian Federation isn’t sufficiently analyzed in historiography.
