Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs – Associate Professor Gabdullin Ruslan Rustemovich.
Education:

Ruslan Gabdullin, born in 1974, graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University in 1996. After finishing postgraduate studying at the faculty in 1999, he continued to work on the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University as an engineer of the Department of Regional Geology and Earth History. In May 2000 he defended his dissertation on “The Rhythm of the Upper Cretaceous deposits of the Russian Plate, Northwest Caucasus and South-Western Crimea (structure, typification of the model of formation)” for the degree of candidate of geological-mineralogical sciences, specialty 04.00.01 “General and regional geology. ”

Career:

Since November 2000 Junior Researcher, June 2003 Senior Researcher, and since May 2006 Associate Professor of the Department of Regional Geology and Earth History of the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University. He lectures and leads training courses on “Historical Geology”, “sequence stratigraphy”, “Geology of North Africa”, “General Geology” in Russian and English for Russian and foreign students of the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University and the School of Economics and business innovation. At the Faculty of Global Studies he lectures “Global natural processes”.

Scientific and scientific-pedagogical activity:

Gabdullin is the author of two textbooks: “Historical Geology. Book 1″, “Short Russian-English-Chinese Dictionary of Geology of course of “historical geology” and co-author of 3 textbooks: “Geological history Bakhchisaray district of Crimea (Crimean Tutorial practice)”,”Multiwave seismic survey. The problem of obtaining high-quality seismic data”,” Sequence stratigraphy”, admitted by The educational and methodological Council, Educational and Methodological Association for classical university education and recommended by the Scientific Council of the Geological Faculty.
Scientific interests include regional geology and stratigraphy of sedimentary basins, paleoclimatology, paleogeography, global intercontinental correlation, astronomical and climatic cycles of nature and society, universal and global history. He is the author of 103 papers (including monographs and popular scientific publications), which are published in Russian and foreign journals, 10 of them in the last 3 years.
Active educational and scientific activities of Gabdullin were awarded by scholarship of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov for young teachers and staff who have achieved significant results in the teaching and research activities (2004, 2005); two awards of national open competition “Pedagogical Innovation” (2001) for the best educational program and a series of methodological developments, Russian contest for the best work on urgent problems of geological sciences and geological exploration (2001); scholarship for competition of scientific works of young scientists of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov (2004), Hans Rausing Foundation for the best popular science publications (2004), as well as the honorable mentions of the Government of Moscow (2000, 2002, 2010), Ministry of Natural Resources (2008). By presidential decree of February 26, 1997 Gabdullin was awarded the medal “In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow”.
His monograph on the topic of the dissertation was awarded the first prize of the All-Russian competition for the best work on urgent problems of geological sciences and geological exploration in 2001, published in English and Russian languages.
His scientific activity is applied in engineering and petroleum geology. He holds training courses for employees of oil and service companies. Geotechnical investigations for various construction projects were conducted with his participation (railway bridges, linear automated traffic control system, kindergartens, schools, high-rise residential complexes, shopping centers and engineering and sports infrastructure and others) in the cities of Moscow and area, Dagomys, Sochi, Adler (including objects of the Olympiad “Sochi-2014″).
Gabdullin is actively engaged in social work. From 1996 to 2000 Gabdullin a member of the Academic Council of the Geological Faculty, member of the Presidium of the Moscow State University Student Union (1997-1998), member of the Executive Board of the Student Union of the Moscow State University (1998-1999). From 1999 to 2000 Gabdullin Vice President of the Student Union of the Moscow State University for Educational and Scientific Affairs, Chairman of the Student Scientific Society of Moscow State University, Executive Secretary of the Conference “Lomonosov”. From 2001 to 2004 Chairman of the Council of young scientists of the Geological Faculty, Executive Secretary of the Conference “Lomonosov” at the Faculty, since 2003 Executive Secretary of the “Bulletin of the Moscow University. Series 4. Geology”. Since 2010 Deputy Dean on Science of the Faculty of Global Studies MSU. Since 2011 – deputy editor of the journal “Bulletin of the Moscow University. Series 27. Globalistics and geopolitics.”
