Research Interests:
Thermodynamics of mineral-melt geothermobarometers for basaltic systems.Computer simulation of the crystallization of basaltic magma at low to high pressures and the effects of oxygen fugacity. Geochemical thermometry and barometry of igneous rocks from lunar and terrestrial basaltic suites. Simulation of heat and mass transport mechanisms as applied to the genesis of basic layered intrusions. Development of computer-based techniques for petrogenetic interpretations of igneous rocks.
Awards:
1990 Special medal of the USSR Academy of Sciences for work on thermodynamic simulation of basalt magma crystallization. Award is given for the best research in the Geological Sciences.
