GENERAL INFORMATION
THE 7th INTERNATIONAL ZONENSHAIN CONFERENCE ON PLATE TECTONICS
will be held in the
Vernadsky State Geological Museum
Address: 103009, Moscow, Mokhovaya street 11, Build. 2,
"Okhotny Ryad" or "Alexandrovsky Sad" metro stations
The conference will embrace one plenary meeting, eight sectional (thematic) meetings, and two workshops. The plenary meeting will take place on October 30, in the morning, in the White Hall of the Vernadsky State Geological Museum RAS (SGM RAS). Sectional meetings with oral contributions will be held onOctober 30 and 31, simultaneously in several rooms of the SGM RAS. The poster session will be held on October 30in the Conference Hall. Please note that Workshop 2 (Tectonics of the Okhotsk Sea Region and Kamchatka) will be carried out on October 29 in the Video-hall of the SGM RAS. More detailed information on the Conference Agenda is given in the enclosed Program.
The conference will take place both in Russian and English. Oral presentations will be accompanied by simultaneous translation.
Participants from other cities, who need hotel accommodations, are asked to inform the Secretariat about it at an earliest possible time (indicating dates and duration of the stay in hotel). There is opportunity to accomodate participants in the "Tsentral'nyi dom turista" (Tourist Central Hotel), where the cost of a single room is about 24 US$ per day, double room is about 34 US$, including breakfast. The Organizing Committee kindly requests to send URGENTLY applications for hotel reservations.
REGISTRATION FEE
Registration fees (200 US$ for full members, 60 US$ for accompanying persons, 50 US$ for student members) are to be paid on-site during the registration. The fee payment covers the volume of abstracts, a participant card, cold drinks during breaks between sessions. The registration payment embraces the participation in both Moscow and St. Petersburg sessions..
TRAVEL TO St.PETERSBURG
Participants of the conference "POLAR REGIONS OF THE EARTH - GEOLOGY, TECTONICS, RESOURCE SIGNIFICANCE, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT" will leave for St.Petersburg on October 31 by the evening train "Avrora" (departure at 17-20, arrival at 23-09). Return to Moscow is planned for November 3 (departure at 16-00, arrival at 21-41). The Organizing Committee would ask the participants to inform urgently the Secretariat, if they need to book tickets to the above-mentioned trains.
Those who received the Third Circular are kindly requested to confirm their participation in the conference (or inform of their refusal), and answer the points concerning hotel reservation, and booking train tickets to the following address:
