We are pleased to inform you that Federation of European Societies of Plant Physiology (FESPP), Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Ministry of Education of Russian Federation, Division of Physico-Chemical Biology RAS, Russian Society of Plant Physiologists, Scientific Council of Plant Physiology and Photosynthesis RAS, K.A.Timiryazev Institute of Plant Physiology RAS and Russian Peoples' Friendship University are organizing the International Symposium on УPlants under Environmental StressФ on October 23-28th, 2001 in Moscow, Russia. On behalf of the Organizing Committee we would like to invite you, your fellow colleagues, to participate in the Symposium with an oral or poster presentation related to the main topics of the Symposium. It is proposed to be an opportunity for presentation of experimental results in the field of genetic, molecular biology, biochemistry and physiology of plant stress, discussions of novel research approaches, exchange of ideas concerning stress signal transduction in plants, molecular and cellular reactions of plants on Global Climate Change, ecology of Megalopolises. The Symposium will take place in the capital of Russia - Moscow. The Symposium will take place in the capital of Russia - Moscow.

The Symposium will be held at the Institute of Plant Physiology on 23-28th October, 2001.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING

In October day's maximum temperature usually varies from 5-10oC, night temperature is between 0-5ю¶. Rainy days can be expected, rain coat and umbrella may be essential.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Personal travel and health insurance are recommended.

If it is necessary, the official invitation letters will be sent.

SYMPOSIUM PACKAGE

The Symposium Package for participants includes: registration fees, Welcome Reception, Farewell dinner, coffee breaks, excursions and Symposium materials (total price is 250 rubles - for scientists from NIS). The amount excludes hotel charges. Registration fees are paid upon arrival.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation will be provided in the Hotel of Russian Academy of Sciences (not far from the Center of the City), "Minsk" (in the Center of the City) or other hotels of Moscow. Price of the hotel single room is $45-60 per night and depends on a category.

TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AIRPORT

If you inform the Organizing Committee about the date and flight number we shall meet you at "Sheremetyevo-2" Airport (Moscow).

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The Organizing Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts relevant to the topics of the Symposium. Abstracts should be written in English in Word for Windows (Version 6.0 or 7.0) and should be sent to the Organizing Committee by e-mail: ifr@ippras.ru or anderyabin@mail.ru in RTF format (first_author_name.rtf; for example Ц Golovina.rtf). Deadline is September, 3, 2001. Abstracts must not exceed one page (A4). All margins (left, right, upper and down borders) should be 3 cm. Spacing Ц 1.0. Font type Ц Times New Roman 12 pts. Abstracts will be selected for either oral or poster presentation.
