FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT Dear colleagues, We kindly invite you to take part in the International Scientific Workshop "Oxide Materials for Electronic Engineering ­ fabrication, properties and application" (-2009) that will be held in June 22­26, 2009 in Lviv Polytechnic National University (Lviv, Ukraine). More than 60 participants from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Poland and USA have attended the previous Workshop (Lviv, 2007). Plenary lectures (30 min), oral (15 min) and poster presentations will be available on the themes of the workshop, which include basic and applied problems in such fields: ­ Fabrication technology of complex oxides (bulk single crystals, epitaxial films, polycrystals and ceramics, composition materials and nano-sized structures) ­ Crystal structure, twinning and microstructure of oxide compounds ­ Oxide materials for quantum and optoelectronics ­ Scintillator materials and detectors of radiation ­ Defects, impurities and transport phenomena in complex oxide crystals ­ Magnetic and magneto-optic properties of complex oxides ­ Piezo- and pyroelectric properties of complex oxides ­ Application of oxides in electronic engineering and transducer devices The working language of the workshop will be English. Oral contributions in Ukrainian or Russian with illustrations made in English will be tolerated as an exception. The contributions in the form of short papers will be published in the Book of the Workshop Proceedings by the beginning of the workshop.
