International School on IT- and GRID-technologies for young scientists

From student to scientist: step by step …
In September 2013, in Bulgaria the were held the 24th International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics and Computing NEC’13 and the International School IT- and GRID-technologies for young scientists.

It was organized by the JINR, CERN, INRNE (Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, Sofia) and the Centre national intellectual reserve Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Total the School was attended by about 40 students, graduate students and young scientists.
The second prize with the report ?A new way to control the current in the stepper motor controller” was taken by the 5th year student of the Physics Department of Moscow State University Sergey Yakovlev. “The school gathered a large number of students from Russia and Bulgaria. We worked in a good atmosphere, it was interesting to learn about each other, share our knowledge. Every day there were held various seminars and lectures. Some were particularly informative and interesting for me. In addition, the school has given me a very useful experience of speaking English and overcoming a certain psychological barrier?.

The third place went to the 4th year student of the Faculty of Physics, Moscow State University – Danila Berezin presented his work “Programming a mechanical chopper world”. ?For me, participating in the School is a valuable experience in terms of understanding how to live and to work with real scientists, the opportunity to plunge into the science that is different from the university. The school has helped to meet with students and young scientists from other countries to establish close contact with them, that in the future will contribute to a fruitful scientific collaboration. ”

Another participant, the 5th year student of the Physics Department of Moscow State University Ilya Marshakov said: “Overall, the school allowed to understand the structure and processes occurring in the world of real science. I was an observer and see how scientists shared their achievements and failures with the audience. Responsibility and interest they related to their work were touching. After the official part there was an opportunity to talk with them in informal setting, as if on an equal footing, that the charge me with positive emotions for the entire academic year. “
