Job description
Postdoctoral research position in heterogeneous catalysis is available in the International Joint Research Lab for Ecoefficient Products and Processes (E2P2L) which is joint research center between Solvay and French National Center for Scientific Research in Shanghai (http://www.e2p2l.com). The research project focuses on the design of new nanomaterials and their application for the synthesis of renewable platform molecules by the reactions of oxidation and amination. Strong emphasis is put on the development of new catalytic routes for the conversion of biomass based building blocks. The main emphasis is on development of the materials on the basis of nanoreactors which would provide new catalytic properties like heterogenezation of homogeneous catalysts by encapsulation (ChemComm 51 (2015) 17120), control of the selectivity by environmentally friendly conditions inside (ACS Catalysis 6 (2016) 1785) and so on.
Requirements
You are a highly motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic researcher with a track record of scientific excellence and strong interest in heterogeneous catalysis and material science. You have recently obtained a PhD degree (or equivalent degree) in chemistry or chemical engineering. You are a team player and are able to work independently. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Conditions of employment
The position is full-time. It will be initially filled for one year, with possible contract extension in the case of successful project realization. The salary will be around 3000 ?/month.
Employer
International Joint Research Lab for Ecoefficient Products and Processes (E2P2L) is joint research center between Solvay and French National Center for Scientific Research in Shanghai (http://www.e2p2l.com). Laboratory is specialized on chemistry related to sustainable development. The projects aim to develop new methods for the environmentally friendly transformation of biomass and/or CO2 with applications in the field of surfactants or biopolymers. This laboratory is based on fundamental research and modeling approaches while retaining the industrial application at the end of the research.
