THE CASPIAN REGION: ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES OF THE CLIMATE CHANGE

INTRODUCTION The purpose of the Conference is to bring together researchers from different countries with experience in the Caspian area for exchange of data, results and ideas on environmental consequences of the climate change in the Caspian region to ensure further pr ogress in Caspian Science. The Conference will work in a mult idisciplinary way across the various fields and perspectives (climatology, hydro logy, marine geo logy, geomorpho logy, palaeogeography, geochemistry, bio logy, etc.) through which we can address the fundamental and related questions of sustainabilit y in the Caspian region. The Conference summarizes the results of mult idisciplinary co llaboration of scient ists from different countries in the Caspian regio n during the last 20 years. This Conference will be held on October 14­16, 2010 in Moscow, Russia. Caspian rivers deltas: Development of the deltas Fluviodeltaic sedimentation Evolut ion of the biodiversit y Geochemical evo lut ion of the landscapes Environmental problems 5. Impact of the sea level change on the Caspian region geosystems 6. Forecasts of Caspian Sea level and environmental changes LANGUAGE The working languages will be English and Russian.

CALL FOR PAPERS Papers in accordance wit h previously listed topics ought to be submitted in English to the Secretariat of the Conference. The text should be t yped in Microsoft WORD format (Word 2000, XP or 2003). Keep the text layout as simple as possible. Manuscripts are to be submitted in electronic format only. Fulllength paper should not exceed 5 pages (including abstract, figures, tables, photographs, etc.). All papers and related correspondence sho uld be directed to the Secretariat of the Conference. MANUSCRIPTS (1) Manuscripts must be written in English, Times New Roman. (2) Avo id excessive use of italics, capitals or bold type of the text. (3) Manuscripts should be organized in the fo llowing order: Tit le centered in 14 point font (capitals, bo ld) with two line space above Name (s) of author (s) centered in 12 point font wit h one line space above but no space below. Author's name is written in an order: given name, middle name, and surname (surname capitalized). Full affiliat ion (s) and address (es) for correspondence centered in 10 po int font. Address (es) can include e-mail address o f each author. Keywords in 10 point font with one line space above and one line space below Introduction Body of text, in 12 point font, single spaced, subdivided by subheadings Conclusio ns Acknowledgements (if applicable) in 10 point font References in 10 point font (4) Page format: A4 (21 cm x 29,7 cm), single co lumn, margins left and right 25 mm, top and bottom 25 mm. ILLUSTRATIONS, FORMULAS, FOOTNOTES Original illustrations (line drawings and photographs) should be ready for print ing. Only black and-white photographs o f good contrast and intensit y will be accepted. Illustrations should be fit into text according to the general page format.
