Inorganic Supramolecular Assemblies and Zintl phases

 

Our group is interested in synthesis, crystal and electronic structure, and properties of solid state supramolecular compounds and Zintl phases. Main objects of the investigation include supramolecular ensembles based on the metal-inorganic frameworks, Group 14 clathrates, complex polypnictides and pnictide-halides. The emphasis is made to the developing of the synthetic routes to new phases, establishing the interrelationships between crystal and electronic structures, and revealing properties towards new materials. Currently, the research involves the development of thermoelectric materials of new generation and the search for new iron-based superconductors, and is supported by the following projects:

1)     The development of thermoelectric materials of new generation based on complex antimonides of p- and d-elements (Russian Foundation for Basic Research);

2)     Nanoblock assemblies based on heterometallic bonds of different dimensionalities: target-aimed synthesis and property control  (Russian Foundation for Basic Research);

3)     New superconducting iron oxopnictides and oxochalcognides: synthesis, structure and properties of compounds featuring FeAs layers (Russian Ministry for Higher Education).
