Courses Overview


Human resources management (English)
The course is aimed at creating an overall understanding of human resources
(HR) management system. Upon completion students will understand basic
concepts and methods of HR management and will gain practical skills in the
field.
Key topics: main theories and concepts of human resources management,
personnel planning, HR policies, personnel selection and hiring, personnel
development, career management.


Financial markets (English)
The course aims at making students understand the interactions of equity
market actors and estimate the opportunities provided by the market for
investors and issuers.
Key topics: financial systems, financial markets, financial instruments,
assets, investment strategy design.


Update Production Systems (English)
The main goal of the course is to develop relevant business conduct
practices necessary for a leader operating in the conditions of limited
resources and time. The course foresees organized field work as well as a
dense reading schedule.
Key topics: operations management, 5S systems, Kaizen system, Toyota
production system.


International Business
The course is designed to broaden the participants' understanding of
threats and opportunities associated with international markets. The task
is to enhance competences for developing international strategies. The
course focuses on development and implementation of an international
business strategy.
Key topics: globalisation versus local specialities, benefits of
standardization and barriers to standardization, off shoring and
outsourcing, international strategies for emerging markets.


Marketing communications
This course will introduce the students to the fundamental principles of
consumer theory and marketing management. Strategic approach taken in the
course will enable students to gain understanding of the marketing behavior
of firms, especially those operating in the international environment. The
course is ideally suited for those who wish to develop a sophisticated and
critical understanding of marketing theory.
Key topics: consumer theory, product differentiation and development,
promotion strategy, pricing strategy, and branding.


Insurance and risks
The course presents an overview of economic, legal, and administrative
bases of insurance. Upon completion, students will have an ability to
identify insurance risks; will be able to follow the development of the
Russian insurance market.
Key topics: insurance bases, insurance activities, property insurance,
personal insurance, economics and finance of an insurance company.

Public relations
The course is aimed at enhancing student's awareness on PR goals and
opportunities, such as support to business development of a company, as
well as gives practical recommendations regarding PR management.
Key topics: introduction to PR, PR within the system of corporate
communications, PR strategies and technologies, PR function in the system
of corporate management, media relations.


Legal Business Environment (Russian)
The course presents an overview of main legal rules and limitations to
economic activities in Russia, state regulations in the economic area,
legal responsibilities in business. Students are given advice on how to
protect businesses against illegal actions of political and business
actors.
Key topics: legal regulations in business, legal forms of business,
property law, contract law, bankruptcy, legal guarantees for a competition,
legal responsibility of business.


Business practical training (English)
The course provides students with practical working experience in companies
operating in various areas of business in Russia, including financial
services, communications, consultancies, companies specializing in natural
resources, high-tech etc. Students have an opportunity to act as business
team members and to witness daily operations of a company. The course
develops understanding of business processes, business communication
skills, and the ability to self-explain using management terminology.

Business Game МВА BEST 21 (English)
"MBABEST21" is a training software program that provides virtual experience
in enterprise
management. In this game students make a decision on a quarterly production
plan and marketing strategies as managers of the company that does business
in the competitive business environment for producing one kind of product
and selling it in an open market.
