Born: September, 1, 1942, Brest.

Doctor of Economics (1988), Professor (1989), Head of the Economic Theory Department of the Inservice Training Centre for Research and Teacing Staff (1988), Pro-Rector, Head of the MSU International Cooperation Department (2001).

Full member of the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences (1999), of the Academy of the Humanities (1995), Head of the Academic Council for Economics of the Russian Education Ministry (1998). Head of the MSU Doctoral Academic Council and member of the Doctoral Academic Council of Moscow State Institute of Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Secretary General of the Eurasian Universities Association. Honorary Educator of Kazakhstan Republic and Uzbekistan Republic.

In 1999 he was awarded the Ushinsky medal.

Alexander V. Sidorovich graduated from the MSU Faculty of Economics in 1977.

His scientific and academic interests cover the problems of methodology of Economics, creation of national economy and economy in transition. The Candidate and Doctoral theses of Alexander V. Sidorovich deal with the problems of reproduction. In these works he has given grounds for treating Economics from the point of view of combining the resource, socioeconomic and institutional approaches. One of the results of his research is working out the theoretical basis and principles of national economy.

He is the scientific supervisor of the fundamental course "Economics Theory" (1997, 2001), the author of the reference book for teachers "Political Economics" (1993), as well as the series of textbooks on different branches of Economics.

A. Sidorovich takes an active part in training the teachers of Economics. He is the member of Academic Councils and Boards of the Russian Ministry of Education . He also works on educational standards and programmes in Economics for Institutes and Universities. A number of international projects for administrative workers and teachers have been organised under his supervision. He also delivers a course of lectures on National Economy and Economics Theory.

He has been a research supervisor to 15 seekers of Candidate Degree and 3 seekers of Doctoral Degree.

He is the author of more than 120 publications, including 3 monographs. He is also one of the authors of 8 textbooks on Economics Theory.
