The Paleohydrological Processes Differenciation in the Marine-Intracontinental (West-East) Eurasian Transect.

Anatoly YAMSKIKH, Labor. of Paleogeogr., Pedag. Univer., Lebedeva str. 89, 660049 Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

The paleohydrological processes in the temperate belt had been differentiated in the East-West transect. The peculiarities of the atmosphere circulation caused this differentiation. Extreme-continental climate of the intracontinental Siberia caused the anomalous high river level raisings. The polycyclic terrace formation occurred in the river valleys of this region (Yamskikh, 1993). The cyclic terrace formation prevailed in the regions with marine and transitional from marine to continental climates. The increasing of the climate continentality from West to East caused the evidence of the polycyclic type of the terrace formation. We revealed that the evidence of this type is in Central, Southern and north-eastern Siberia. The monsoon East.-Asian climate caused the prevalence of the rain-source floods in the erosion and accumulative processes and cyclic terrace formation. The detail equally scale investigations in the key basins of these regions will allow us to reveal and predict the main regularities of the paleohydrological processes.
