To whom it may concern,
On September 22-25, 2009, at the University of Warsaw, the Second
International Conference 'Education for All' is going to take place.
The First 'Education for All' Conference that took place in September,
2007, turned out to be a real success. It was attended by over 160 guests
from 19 countries, the Conference itself becoming an excellent platform for
the exchange of experiences. Additionally, the Conference was enhanced
by the accompanying exhibition of Assistive Technology and Adaptive
Solutions, with a number of participants presenting state-of-the-art
solutions.
The Second International Conference 'Education for All' will be devoted to
three main topics:
1. Universal design - more than just architecture
This subject thread we devote to the elimination of all barriers,
both construction barriers and others, like, for instance, obstacles
in access to information.
2. Beyond the borders of traditional disability
An all-increasing number of persons seeking support of the
Disability Offices report learning problems or disabilities
resulting from psychiatric conditions. This signifies a necessity to
re-define the notion of disability, as well as to develop new
services and ways of support.
3. Inclusive education - can it become a fact?
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
indicates inclusive education to be a solution to guarantee full
rights of persons with disabilities. In this section we shall
attempt to answer the question, whether inclusive education is
indeed possible.
The Participants, who would be interested in giving a presentation, are
encouraged to prepare their papers in one of the proposed subject fields.
The conference is held under the patronage of the Rector Magnificus of the
University of Warsaw, Professor Katarzyna Cha?asi?ska-Macukow.
I would deeply appreciate passing this information concerning our event on
to persons dealing with the organization of support for persons with
disabilities, but also to those, who have the questions of the access of
persons with disabilities to education in their field of activity.
The Conference language is English, yet we offer full simultaneous
interpretation support for the Participants.
With kind regards,

Pawe? WdСwik
