Dear colleagues!
You are welcome to participate in the work of the international conference «Current state of the crabs populations in the Barents Sea and their interaction with bottom biocenoces » Conference will take place in Murmansk on September 25 - 29, 2006 on the basis of the Murmansk Marine Biological Institute KSC RAS at the participation of Russian Academy of Sciences, A. N. organizations. A wide range of problems allowing to estimate a modern status of crabs of the Barents sea and first of all economically valuable species- introducers (red king crab, snow crab) and their role in the ecosystem of an important for the commercial fishery Arctic area. Information concerning different aspect of crab biology from other areas (Northern Europe, Far East) which help to reveal biological processes taking place in the Barents Sea are also welcome. We hope that the conference will arouse great interest in both: Russian and foreign specialists and will outline the major directions of investigations for the future perspective. The work of the Conference will be according to the following directions: 1. Biology and physiology of crabs. 2. Dynamics of crabs abundance and distribution, population structure. 3. Reproductive peculiarities of crabs. 4. Growth, age, trophic interrelations of crabs. 5. Crabs-introducers and their impact on local bottom biocenoces. 6. Genetic aspects, mortality, diseases, parasites and commensals of crabs. 7. Mariculture of crabs and its perspectives. 8. Management of resources, economic aspects of crabs fishery and its impact on the infrastructure of coastal settlements, problems of resources protection. 9. Development of the amateur and sportive fishery, tourism.

General information
Presentation by the participants of the conference, will be published on the collection of the materials before the beginning of the work of the conference. Forms of presentations and time-limit: Plenary presentations ­ till 25 minutes including the period for answering the questions; Section presentations ­ up to 15 minutes, including the period for answering the questions. Posters Language of presentations: Russian or English

Registration fee
Foreign participants of the conference pay the sum equal to 30 euro (in rubles) at conference registration. Registration fee is supposed for the payment of organization services and publication of the materials.

INVESTIGATIONS OF RED KING CRAB BIOLOGY IN THE DOLGAYA BAY OF THE BARENTS SEA
Materials are presented in two copies. They must contain not more than 6 pages of the text and references (including illustrations ­ not more than 2 ­ figures, graphs, and tables), types through 1.5 interval in Times New Roman, font 14. Parameters of the page: format 4, top and bottom margins ­ 1.5 cm, left ­ 2.5 cm, right ­ 2 cm. Indention ­ 1 cm. Figures are black- white, shaded (not background). Dimensions are 12x17 cm. Marks of the axes of the graphs (marking of the axes) ­ inside. Summary (in English) including UDC are obligatory. Besides printed version on the paper it is necessary to send the electron variant of the article in the format Word 6.0/95/97/2000 or typed in any other editor and saved in the RTF format, figures are in format CorelDraw 9.0 or JPG by ordinary or e-mail (attached files). Text is without division. Headings are to be typed in bold. Illustrations, tables and inscriptions to the illustrations are presented as separate files. The following parts are to be contained in the folder: text-the text part of the presentation, tabl-tables, pic-inscriptions to the illustrations, illustrations are in the files pic1.***, pic2.*** References to the literature sources are inserted in the round brackets (Surname N.
