The article looks at the influence of globalization processes on the development of higher education in different countries, especially Russia, and the processes of integration of national systems into common educational space of the world. We analyse the problems of multilevel system of higher professional education in contemporary Russian society. The guidelines of educational policy, which enables individuals to adapt to social and economic changes and actively participate in social life, are shown.
