M.M. Alferaki ­ The Birds of the Lower Don River Area: Passeriformes. ­ Belik, V.P., Shergalin, J.E., Franquien Y.J. ­ The second part of extracts from diaries of M.M. Alferaki (1889-1958) on passerines (77 species), collected during 1903-1919 in the south of Rostov Region and adjacent regions are represented in the article. Extracts are illustrated by pictures of M.M. Alferaki. Data on status, distribution, numbers and trapping of some song (cage) birds are given. Local people's names of birds are of special interest. These data allow analyse changes of avifauna of this area for a century. Appendix gives the brief biographies of people mentioned in the text. At least two of them V.I. Balabin and S.T. Pavlov are authors of ornithological publications as well. Key words: avifauna, passerines birds, Rostov Region, Russia.
