Abstracts of the 4th IUMRS International Conference in Asia ( Chiba, Japan, September 16-18, 1997 )
ABSTRACT. Dynamics of laser-induced phase transitions ( LIPT ) of carbon is considered in connection with optical feedback between phase transition's front velocity into the target and melt film thickness. Stationary and non-stationary regimes of LIPT are predicted using the theoretical model proposed and are observed by means of optoacoustic spectroscopy, laser reflectometry and time-of-flight mass spectroscopy.
