The Acts of the Russian Governmental Constitutionalism in the 1917-1985 Historiography

The article examines the acts of the Russian governmental constitutionalism in the XVIII- early XX centuries. The author sums up the 1917-1985 research into the problem, defining two main trends in the historiography. The first one is critical towards the constitutional projects, the second one evaluates them positively.  Both approaches focus heavily on the reasons for the development of this projects, their political and legal ramifications.
