Strategic Urban Development: Cultural and Educational Potential

The article analyzes the strategic urban development planning. The article is based on expert interviews conducted in Yekaterinburg to analyze the public perception of the city. The article concludes that the need to consider cultural and educational potential as a set of socio-cultural values and norms embodied in the traditions and cultural heritage sites, providing the cultural identity of the individual and / or social group for strategic development of the city. The paper also addresses the problems of “creative city”.
