Ph.D., associate professor, School of Public Administration, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Non-governmental organizations have gained a great deal of popularity in recent years. International NGOs from Amnesty International to Greenpeace are now key players in global politics. NGOs provide humanitarian aid and development assistance; they are focused on human rights, peace, disarmament, climate change and many other international problems. The article provides an overview of the varieties of interaction between INGOs and states, international organizations, significant role and increasing participations of these actors in world politics.
