The paper presents an analysis of the texts of seven Manifestos, published between 1881 and 1907. After the analysis of the semantic field of power, the author emphasizes both modern and archaic concepts of the legitimacy of the government. A comparison of these concepts in the text of the Manifestos published in 1905–1907 shows the transformation of the ideas of legitimacy of the state.
