In recent years one of the most urgent problems in Russian science and politics was the problem of the “Colour Revolutions” in several former Soviet republics — Georgia, Ukraine and Kirgizstan. The article examines the transformation of political regimes in these states in 2003–2005, the origins, mechanism and outcomes of the “Colour Revolutions”. The author argues that the “revolutionary” leaders were unable to create stable democratic regimes and the “revolutions” did not meet the expectations of Georgian, Ukrainian and Kirghiz people.
