Modern Mechanism for Improving Efficiency of Public Sector Entrepreneurship: The Experience of BRICS State-owned Enterprises

The article provides a detailed picture of the modern view of the mechanism of public sector entrepreneurship. Contemporary conditions of economic development require the state-owned enterprises to adapt entrepreneurial orientation and show strategic flexibility. This particularly concerns BRICS economies. On the way to built flexible and innovative organization subjects of state-owned business should concentrate on proactive search for profitable opportunities, coordination of inner resources to realize innovative potential, and complex management of relationship and networks of stakeholders. Realization of these components of the mechanism of public sector entrepreneurship changes the traditional view of inefficiency of state-owned business and brings SOEs to a new level of development. The author analyses main problems of SOEs performance and clarifies acute guidelines for increasing their efficiency.
