International commission on continental erosion

Welcome to the web page of the International Commission on Continental Erosion or ICCE. The ICCE is one the commissions of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS). The field of interests of the ICCE may be broadly defined as including the erosion, transport and deposition of sediment and the interaction of these processes with other components of the environment.
The Commission is concerned with improving our knowledge of erosion and sedimentation processes and the movement of sediment throughout the landscape and its impact on the environment, society and ecosystems. It also aims to promote the development and application of new methods for investigating erosion and sediment delivery. More recently the ICCE has focused on bridging the gap between research, management and policy especially through technology transfer to developing countries. The ICCE sees its role as both promoting scientific advances and applying this knowledge to improve sustainable developments and the solution of environmental problems.
The Commission actively collaborates with the other IAHS commissions and other international groups with interests in the field of erosion and sedimentation, including the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), the International Geographical Union (IGU), the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD), the International Sediment Initiative (ISI), World Association for Sediment and Erosion Research (WASER), international Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Joint FAO/IAEA Division
