The Faculty of Global Studies is a wise and timely choice if you are now choosing a faculty. It is currently alma mater to 60 international undergraduates who benefit from a wide range of activities and experiences. It is the place where people think critically, communicate effectively and strive for professional goals. We are committed to Lomonosov Moscow State Universitys traditions and standards and open to anyone who is daring, ambitious, and globally minded. You will surely meet a lot of friends and feel very well at home here. The Faculty of Global Studies has both Bachelors and Masters programs in international relations. The Bachelors Programs are: 1) Global Economics and Management, 2) Global Political Processes and Diplomacy, 3) International Humanitarian Cooperation. The Masters Programs are: a) Global Political Processes; b) Global Economic Processes; c) Global Processes in International Tourism. Papers for application: Passport; Notarized translation of the passport into Russian; Visa; * Migration card; Migration registration; Original of the paper confirming education; Original of the application to the document confirming education; Translation of the paper confirming education (with application) into Russian; ** Legalization / apostille on the paper confirming education; Paper confirming your diploma matches Russian standards of education; Graduation certificate of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture (formerly CIE); *** Eight ID photos 3 cm x 4 cm, matte paper, color or black-white; Application forms (to be provided by the faculty on your arrival). IMPORTANT: Please note that your name should be translated into Russian identically in all the documents! If there are any name differences in the notarized translations of the passport, visa and papers confirming education, then youll have to additionally confirm your identity at the Embassy. * You can sit exams having a tourist visa. After passing an exam successfully, the applicant will be required to sign an enrollment contract and leave the country until the start of school year. Make sure your tourist visa is valid for the duration of exams. A matriculated student must get the Facultys special invitation which will secure a Study Permit visa. **A paper confirming your education along with the transcript of your graded and non-graded exams must be translated into Russian and notarized either in Russia or in your countrys Russian Embassy or Consulate. ***More information about the Institute can be found at http://www.cie.ru Deadlines for submitting application papers are set by the Central Admission Board and they change every year. Normally it is between June 10th and July 20th. Papers are submitted in the 1st building of Humanities. All submission details can be found at www.fgp.msu.ru International applicants are to take two entry tests: Bachelors programs: – Russian as a foreign language (orally) – History of Russia (orally) Masters programs: – English (written) – History of international relations (written) Entry tests dates are also fixed by the Central Admission Board. Normally it is as follows: Bachelors programs end of June (Russian as a foreign language) and mid-July (History of Russia). For graduates of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture (formerly CIE) end of June. Masters programs beginning of July (first wave) and end of July (second wave). Its also possible to submit application papers and sit entry exams in the extra set in late August.
Useful Information and Tips
- Please organize your application papers very carefully, as this will guarantee trouble-free admission to the Faculty and save bother during the study period.
- Be advised that a travel visa should be issued for no less than 20 days. This time will be enough for submitting your papers and taking exams.
- It is preferable to arrive at the Faculty in early September in order to get a place at the dormitory.
- An invitation from Moscow University for getting a student visa is issued within 2.5 months, so you should notify the Faculty well in advance that you intend to take entry exams.
- Applicants who graduated from the CIE and successfully passed the entry test must get themselves absentee letters there for migration registration at the Faculty.
- A foreign citizen must get migration registration within 7 working days after their arrival in the country. (If migration registration is carried out at the Faculty, documents should be submitted to the international department of the Faculty within 3 working days upon arrival). Applicants who have a tourist visa can get migration registration according to their place of stay, or at their hotel. Otherwise, these applicants automatically become illegal migrants, they are fined and deported from Russia with no right to enter the country for 5 years.

- The tuition fee in 2015-2016 is 325,000 rubles per year.
