Department of Higher Geometry and Topology
Lecture courses
According to the tradition of the Faculty of Mathematics and
Mechanics in Moscow State University, the lecture courses for
undergraduate students are given by professors with a Dr of
Science degree in mathematics from the departments specialising in
the subject of the course. For instance, the undergraduate course
in calculus is given by professors from the Department of
Mathematical Analysis, while the course in algebra is given by
professors from the Department
of Algebra.
Professors from the Department of Geometry and Topology are
currently involved in teaching the following main geometry
courses:
-
Analytic geometry (I year, 1st semester),
-
Linear algebra and geometry (I year, 2nd semester),
-
Classical differential geometry (II year, 4th semester),
-
Differential geometry and topology (III year, 5th semester),
-
Applied problems of geometry (V year, 10th semester).
Also, several special advanced courses on different topics of geometry and topology are being taught by the members of the Departent of Geometry and Topology for undegraduate and post graduate
students specialising in geometry and topology.
