Название: Digital Communications
Авторы: Glover I. A., Grant P.
Аннотация:
Digital Communications is an up-to-date text covering the principles of digital communications systems. It is primarily aimed at undergraduate and first year postgraduate students, but it will also provide professional engineers with an excellent overview, and a new source of information.
The book is divided into four parts. Part One develops the mathematical tools most frequently used to analyse modern communications signals and systems. Part Two describes the fundamental principles of digital communications transmission including PCM. source and error control coding, optimum filtering for transmission and reception, and bandpass modulation. Part Two also includes an introduction to communication system simulation. Part Three describes a selection ot modern applications; principally, terrestrial microwave relay, geostationary satellite communications, cellular radio and video transmission. Part Four examines small and large scale data networks and includes an introduction to the PDH. SDH. and ATM.
presents a comprehensive treatment of digital communications principles
describes a selection of modern systems including satellite communications and cellular radio
introduces data network concepts, systems and protocols
achieves a good balance of theory, simulation and practical systems
incorporates over 80 illustrative worked examples and over 170 end of chapter problems. Outline solutions to many of the end of chapter problems are available at http://www.ee.ed.ac.uk/pmg/DIGICOMMS/index.html
Ian Glover is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Bath. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in digital communications, antennas and radio propagation. His principal research interest is in microwave radio propagation.
Peter Grant is Professor of Electronic Signal Processing at the University of Edinburgh where he leads the Signals and Systems Research Group. He teaches BEng/MEng Honours classes in digital communications and signal processing.
