Winter Youth Space School in SINP

mgu_29_01_14_166January 30, 2016, Winter Youth Space School began its work at “Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics of Lomonosov Moscow State University Lomonosov “(SINP). This year, the school has expanded its geography due to the opening of the Student league and participation of teams, formed on the basis of the leading aerospace companies, such as Korolev RSC “Energia” and Reshetnev ISS (Zheleznogorsk).

50 teams of schoolchildren and junior students from different regions of Russia (from Blagoveshchensk to Feodosia) and the Republic of Belarus will not only listen to lectures, perform laboratory work, and participate in the nuclear and space physics workshops and master classes, but also learn how to program and operate the oscilloscope.

The main event of the Winter School is the selection session for the final of CanSat championship (“CanSat in Russia”), which is a Russian version of the international youth competition in the development and creation of training models of satellites. The participants must protect their draft working models of spacecraft and rockets, which they will launch during the final in the stratosphere at the height of 30 kilometers.

More than 60% of such winter schools participants choose engineering or science education in the future.
