Dear Colleagues, Nest seminar on Computer algebra will be in Wednesday, December, 5, 17:00 (room 3-24, building KFVE, Institute of Nuclear Physics, Moscow State University). Stable Calculations of Special Functions in MAPLE S.L.Skorokhodov ( Computing Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow ) A problem of cancellation is one of the most important problems in computational mathematics. Some bright examples from the theory of functions and finite differences are given in connection with the problem. The problem of stable summing of generalized hypergeometric series is considered. An effective technique of solution to the problem in MAPLE is given. The problem of analytic continuation of function, one of the most important problems in theory of functions, is considered. The method of re-expansion, it's connection with the finite difference equations and the theory of O.Perron is considered. Stable realization of this approach in MAPLE is demonstrated for Gauss hypergeometric function. The problem of existing of multiple poles for analytic continuation of some special functions is considered. The method of regularization for effective elimination of the poles in MAPLE is discussed. More details you will see at web page: http://theory.sinp.msu.ru/CA best wishes, A.Kryukov -- =============================================================== Alexander Kryukov Nuclear Physics Institute Moscow State University 119899, Moscow Russia ===============================================================
