The familistic sociology, which is opposed to individualistic theories, uses both traditional quantitative methods and qualitative methods, highly demanded in modern science. Familistic researches allow the effective usage of the advantages of both methods, be it the study of social essence of the family, its roles and social functions, or the analysis of dynamics of family structures and its social consequences. Qualitative techniques enrich sociological researches of social macro processes and functioning of social institutions.
