The article formulates and analyzes trends in sociological education. Particular attention is paid to adapting the existing methods of teaching, relations with employers and the education system as a whole to the conditions of a changed society and the requirements of the transition to the principles of European education. Attempt is made to identify the benefits of the six -year preparation of sociologists at Moscow State University.
